The annual Redding Rodeo Week kicked off on Saturday, May 11, with a rousing barbecue and dance sponsored by the Redding Rodeo Association. The kick-off event to Rodeo Week was held at the Redding rodeo grounds, located not far from the Redding Civic Auditorium.
The annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fundraising event is to take place in Redding this weekend.
The Love List, a stage comedy about finding love and locating the perfect mate, is set to hit the stage at the Hampton Inn in Red Bluff, located just south of Redding, later this week.
In early March, a free screening clinic will be held for children aged up to 18 in Redding to test them and determine if they are eligible for treatment at Shrine Hospital.
The annual Wildways Kickoff Party is coming to Redding once again next month and Shasta Land Trust, which is hosting the event, will highlight local businesses, beer and wine, artists and food at the party.
As the possibility of cold storms are predicted for Siskiyou County, the Mt. Shasta Ski Park, located approximately an hour north of Redding, makes possible plans to open early for the holiday season. Jim Mullins, who serves as the spokesman for the ski park, reported that as long as the park is able to maintain cold temperatures and make snow, there is a good possibility that the park will be able to open early.
A long-time Christmas tradition is returning to Redding late this fall and winter. The Cascade Theater and Jefferson Public Radio will once again present a delightful showcase of holiday musical theatre.
The 2012 Girls Night Out is scheduled to take place in early November in Anderson, located approximately 13 miles south of Redding.
The Redding Police Department is seriously considering a move to City Hall in the near future. In a 3-1 vote at a City Council meeting held on Tuesday, September 18, it was decided that an architectural firm will be hired to analyze and develop plans for the new headquarters.
